A Senator from New Hampshire; born in Nashua, N.H., June 27, 1968; graduated Pennsylvania State University, B.A., 1990; graduated Villanova University, J.D., 1993; law clerk to New Hampshire Supreme Court Justice Sherman Horton; lawyer; prosecutor, New Hampshire attorney general's office 1998-2000; staff, New Hampshire attorney general 2000-2003; counsel to New Hampshire Governor Craig Benson 2003; deputy attorney general of New Hampshire 2003-2004; attorney general of New Hampshire 2004-2009; elected as a Republican to the United States Senate in 2010, and served from January 3, 2011, to January 3, 2017; was an unsuccessful candidate for re-election to the Senate in 2016; elected governor of New Hampshire in 2024, and took the oath of office on January 9, 2025.Courtesy of Biographical Directory of the United States Congress
